Adoption is a special form of family formation. A wide range of counselling services are provided for relinquishing parents as well as couples and individuals willing to adopt.

• Counselling and support for relinquishing parents, also after the adoption has taken place and in the case of confidential births.
• Counselling, preparation and training of adoptive parent applicants
• Placement of children in Germany, accompaniment and counselling of the adoptive family
• Accompaniment of contacts between the relinquishing and adopting family in the case of open adoption
• Counselling and professional opinion in stepchild, relative and third-party adoptions
• Accompaniment and counselling of adopted children (e.g. assistance in the search for identity, inspection of files for adoptees, assistance and counselling in the search for birth parents and siblings)
• Assistance with intercountry adoptions
• Further training offers as well as exchange possibilities for adoptive parents/families
• Support and moderation of the group of adult adoptees
