Appointment of honorary judges at the Altenburg Social Court
Every five years, the City of Jena seeks applicants for the office of honorary judge to participate in the chambers for matters pursuant to Section 51 (1) No. 6a SGG (matters of social welfare including matters of integration assistance for people with disabilities and the Asylum Seekers Benefits Act) at the Social Court of Altenburg.
Appointments are made by the President of the State Social Court on the basis of the City of Jena's list of nominees. The term of office is five years.
Interested parties are hereby invited to apply for the honorary office.

New honorary judges are being sought for the Altenburg Social Court for a five-year term of office.
The City of Jena must draw up a list of candidates for this purpose.
The honorary judges are appointed by the President of the Thuringian State Social Court on the basis of this list of nominations.
Requirements
§§ Sections 16 to 17 of the Social Courts Act (SGG)
The requirements for the office are

Possession of German citizenship,
-
at least 25 years of age at the beginning of the term of office,
-
Resident in Jena at the time of inclusion in the list of nominees.
The following are excluded from the office of honorary judge:

Persons who, as a result of a judicial decision, are not qualified to hold public office or who have been sentenced to more than six months' imprisonment for an intentional offense,

Persons against whom charges have been brought for an offense that may result in the loss of the right to hold public office.
Persons who have suffered financial collapse should not be appointed.
Furthermore, according to § 17 Para. 3 SGG, employees of the districts and independent cities cannot be members of the chamber that decides on disputes from their area of work.
