German nationals who wish to marry abroad must present a certificate of no impediment to marriage in certain countries. To find out whether a certificate of no impediment to marriage is required in a particular country, please contact the diplomatic mission of the country in question.
The certificate of no impediment to marriage is issued by the registry office of the country of residence.
