Information on contaminated sites is information on possible contamination of soil or groundwater with pollutants. This information is important, for example, for construction projects and in the context of land and property sales or valuations.

In principle, everyone is entitled to receive information on contaminated sites, unless public or private interests stand in the way.

The information on contaminated sites for the city of Jena is issued by the lower soil protection authority upon informal application. It is based on the information available for the respective property.

The application can be made orally or in writing by letter, e-mail or fax.

It should contain the parcel, land parcel and/or the address of the property in question. Furthermore, it must be stated whether the information is to be provided orally, by e-mail, in writing or by inspection of files, expert reports and documents.

The provision of oral information and on-site inspection are free of charge.

A fee is payable for written information. This fee is calculated according to the time required.
