Fishing course / Fishing test / Fishing license
Fishing licenses can be applied for with a validity of 1, 5 and 10 years or for life. There are also youth fishing licenses (from 8 to 14 years) and quarterly fishing licenses.
The fishing examination can be taken from the age of 10. Registration is already open for all courses.

Details
Youth fishing license
The youth fishing license is valid from the age of 8 until the age of 14.
Annual fishing license
The fishing license can be purchased with a validity of one, five or ten years. The unlimited fishing license is issued for life. These fishing licenses can only be issued with proof of having passed a state fishing examination.
Quarterly fishing license
Without a fishing examination, only a quarterly fishing license with various restrictions can be acquired. The quarterly fishing license is not accepted by every fishing license holder.

The fishing exam on 15.01.2026 is fully booked. The next exam will take place on 16.04.2026.
Online course participants - fishing exam on demand
Participants of the online course at Fischerschule Jena, Fishing-King, Beute-Fieber, Anglerschmiede or other fishing courses are welcome to register for one of the following exams - you may be placed on the waiting list.
Fishing school Jena - Fall course 2025 - Exam January 2026
The fall course 2025 takes place on Fridays 17:00 to 19:30, Saturdays 07:30 to 13:00 and is also fully booked.

The spring course 2026 takes place on Fridays from 17:00 to 19:30, Saturdays from 08:00 to 15:45 and Sundays from 08:00 to 12:15. Interested parties can already register now for the 2026 spring course.

The quarterly fishing license is issued without a passport photo and without a certificate of eligibility.
The youth fishing license is issued without an examination certificate.
