On thebasis of the Infection Protection Act (§ 23 IfSG), the Health Department of the City of Jena inspects the medical facilities in Jena, such as the University Hospital Jena, practices for outpatient surgery, dialysis and maternity facilities, outpatient nursing services and facilities formedical foot care (podiatry).
These facilities are subject to infection hygiene monitoring by the Health Department of the City of Jena.
In accordance with the Infection Protection Act, the managers of these facilities are obliged to take the necessary measures to prevent nosocomial infections, to prevent the further spread of pathogens and to establish internal procedural instructions for infection prevention.
