Modernisation and repair of rented housing - funding opportunities
Der Freistaat Thüringen gewährt Zuwendungen für die Modernisierung und Instandsetzung von Miet- und Genossenschaftswohnungen in Form eines Baudarlehens.
Ziel der Förderung ist es,
- den Gebrauchswert von Wohnungen wiederherzustellen und zu erhöhen,
- eine Verbesserung der Energieeffizienz der Wohngebäude bzw. der Wohnungen zu erzielen,
- sozial adäquate Mieten zu erreichen (im Durchschnitt bis zu 5,50 €/m² Wohnfläche),
- eine nachhaltige Vermietung der am Bedarf orientierten Wohnungen zu gewährleisten,
- den Anteil an barrierefreien (mit dem Rollstuhl nutzbaren) und barrierearmen Wohnraum zu erhöhen,
- eine schnelle Wiedernutzbarmachung von leer stehendem Wohnraum zu erreichen,
- Wohnraum für Studierende und Auszubildende zu schaffen
Die geförderten modernisierten Wohnungen unterliegen der Belegungsbindung.

What is subsidised?
- Structural measures on and in the building and within the dwelling that increase the utility value
- measures to save heating energy
- Modernisation-related repair measures
- and further measures of repair of roof, facade, windows, floor, staircase, chimney, moisture penetration and dampness
Funding requirements
The building must be worthy of preservation. Its removal must not be expected in the foreseeable future.
Funding is excluded if the apartments are rented condominiums.
Execution of the measure may only begin after the grant has been awarded. In exceptional cases, approval for an early start of the measure will be granted in writing upon justified application.
Application
The Thuringian State Administration Office in Weimar is responsible for receiving and approving applications.
