You can apply for a registration certificate in person or online (see links).
The registration certificate serves as proof of your current residential address and, if applicable, other personal data. You can choose between a simple and an extended registration certificate.

Procedure/deadlines
Persons currently registered in Jena
For persons currently registered in Jena, the online services for the simple registration certificate and the extended registration certificate are available for the application. The payment options GiroPay (incl. Paydirekt) and credit card are offered. The registration certificate will be sent to your address by post. An application by e-mail is not offered for persons registered in Jena; alternatively, you must make an appointment at the Citizens' Service.
Persons who have already moved away
Persons who have already moved can submit an informal application by e-mail to bs-antrag@jena.de with a copy of their identity document and, if necessary, proof of their current address (e.g. abroad or in the case of a passport). Your identity and address must be verifiable. You will receive a request for payment (advance payment) and once the fee has been transferred, the registration certificate will be sent to your address by post.

Opening hours
Document Pickup - No Appointment Required
You can pick up documents that you have already applied for and are now ready for pickup (passports, ID cards, eID cards, and documents from the driver’s license office) at the front desk during business hours without an appointment.
Other Matters Requiring an Appointment
If you need to visit in person for other matters, you must schedule an appointment. You can do this online or by phone.
