Submit a resident request

Residents within the meaning of Section 2 ThürEBBG can submit questions, suggestions and proposals on municipal matters (concerns) for discussion at the City Council meeting. The request must be submitted in writing to the City Council office in advance. This can also be done online here or via the link "Web form residents' inquiry".

A 30-minute residents' question time is held at the beginning of each ordinary public meeting of the City Council as required. Residents of the City of Jena can submit their questions, suggestions and proposals on municipal matters that they would like to have answered or dealt with at City Council meetings. The questions are answered by the Lord Mayor or the aldermen.

The request must be submitted to the City Council office by 2 p.m., 14 days before the meeting, in writing or verbally for recording. Each resident may raise a maximum of one issue at a City Council meeting, which may be divided into a maximum of three sub-issues/items. The resident is given a maximum of three minutes to speak. It should take a maximum of five minutes to deal with or answer the matter.

Section 7a of the Main Statutes of the City of Jena (A01) in conjunction with Section 10 of the Rules of Procedure (A04) for the City Council and the committees of the City of Jena regulate the framework conditions for residents' inquiries.
