Apply for a postal vote

If you are unable to attend the polling station in person on election day, you can vote by post. The easiest way to apply for this is online.

Application

The easiest and most secure way to apply for a postal vote is online using the appropriate form. However, you can also apply for a postal vote by filling out the form on the election notification and sending it back to the city by post or posting it in the letterbox at Bürgerdienste, Engelplatz 1. It is also possible to apply by email to briefwahl@jena.de, providing all the necessary information (name, date of birth, registration address, address to which the postal voting documents are to be sent). Please also note the postal delivery times when planning your appointments.

Postal polling station

The postal voting office, where you can also collect your postal voting documents in person and vote immediately if you wish, is located in the event room of the Citizens' Services Department, Engelplatz 1, access via Klostergasse.

End of online application

The online application for the Burgau district mayoral election ends on Wednesday, 18.06.2025, 12:00 noon.
