Certification of the vehicle
The type approval is a document in which the manufacturer certifies the conformity to an approved type or an officially recognized expert certifies the appraisal of the vehicle.
The registration authority does not issue a new type approval. To do this, you must contact the manufacturer of the vehicle or, if this is unsuccessful, have an officially recognised expert draw up an expert opinion to obtain the operating permit.
In the event of a replacement operating permit being issued by the officially recognised expert, the registration authority will issue the operating permit on the document.
Vehicles with EC type approval, evidenced by the COC certificate, do not require national type approval. If this document is lost, please contact the dealer/manufacturer.

Opening hours
Document Pickup - No Appointment Required
You can pick up documents that you have already applied for and are now ready for pickup (passports, ID cards, eID cards, and documents from the driver’s license office) at the front desk during business hours without an appointment.
Other Matters Requiring an Appointment
If you need to visit in person for other matters, you must schedule an appointment. You can do this online or by phone.

The registration authority uses special adhesive seals with special security features for the vehicle documents. This increases the total fees by € 0.30 per adhesive seal used.
