Apply for a resident parking permit

Apply online

You can apply for a resident parking permit (also known as a resident parking permit) in person or online.

Each resident receives only one resident parking permit. This entitles the resident to park a vehicle that they use permanently or permanently in the corresponding resident parking zone.

Eligible are

  • who has their main residence in the respective resident parking zone and
  • can prove that they do not have a private parking space in their parking zone and
  • is registered as the owner of a motor vehicle (with a gross weight of less than 3.5 t) or
  • can prove that he has a motor vehicle for permanent use.

Registering a vehicle at your main residence

Applicants who are the owner of a vehicle with foreign or foreign license plates should note that the vehicle owner is obliged under § 46 FZV to register their vehicle at their main place of residence.

As the Citizens' Service is also the registration authority, a new resident parking permit will only be issued in these cases if the owner also applies to transfer the vehicle to Jena at the same time.

  • Identity document (identity card or passport)
  • Registration certificate part I (original)
  • If applicable, written confirmation from the vehicle owner that the vehicle has been made available to you for permanent or long-term use - only required if you are not the owner of the vehicle and a vehicle has been made available to you for permanent or long-term use
  • if necessary, a written power of attorney - if another person is to make the application on your behalf, please note: online applications must be made in person

Document Pickup - No Appointment Required

You can pick up documents that you have already applied for and are now ready for pickup (passports, ID cards, eID cards, and documents from the driver’s license office) at the front desk during business hours without an appointment.

Other Matters Requiring an Appointment

If you need to visit in person for other matters, you must schedule an appointment. You can do this online or by phone.
