Acquire fine dust sticker
Die Stadt Jena hat zur Zeit noch keine Umweltzone eingerichtet. Das heißt, dass zum Befahren Jenaer Straßen bislang keine Feinstaubplakette nötig ist.
Dennoch empfiehlt sich der Erwerb einer solchen Plakette, da bundesweit in zunehmendem Maße Umweltzonen ausgewiesen werden. Fahrzeuge ohne oder mit der falschen Plakette dürfen in den gesperrten Straßen nicht fahren.

Affixing the sticker
The sticker must be affixed by the vehicle owner in a clearly visible position on the inside of the windscreen. The sticker destroys itself when removed.

Opening hours
Document issue - without an appointment
Documents that have already been applied for and are now ready for collection (passport, ID card and eID card as well as documents from the driving license authority) can be collected from reception during opening hours without an appointment.
Other requests with an appointment
An appointment must be booked for personal visits for other matters. This can be done online or by telephone.

On 23.12.2025 the area is only open until 16:00. The area is closed on 02.01.2026. The department cannot be reached by telephone from 4 p.m. on 23.12.2025 and all day on 02.01.2026.
