Registering drones and unmanned aerial vehicles
Flying drones and other unmanned aerial vehicles is not subject to a permit under certain conditions. The exact conditions canbe found at the Thuringian State Administration Office.(link is external)
All flights, including those without a permit, must be registered at least 3 days before the planned ascents.

Registering a drone flight - required documents
To register a flight with an unmanned remote-controlled flying object (e.g. drone), you must submit the following data in writing in advance:
- Date, time and location of the planned flight
- Proof of competence of the drone pilot
- Declaration of consent from the landowner
- Appropriate liability insurance
Please note that the multicopter (also known as a "drone") must have a fireproof sticker with the name and address of the owner.
