Register / extend prostitution activities

You must register in person or via the web form before taking up the activity or before the previous registration certificate expires with the authority in whose jurisdiction you wish to carry out the activity. Registration via the web form can speed up processing, but does not replace the personal registration and consultation interview at the authority.

The registration certificate is valid for two years for persons aged 21 and over who are required to register, and for one year for persons under the age of 21 who are required to register.

Health consultation

• A health consultation (not an examination) is required before the registration certificate is issued. You can do this at a health authority of your choice. When registering for the first time, the consultation takes place at the authority responsible for providing health advice at the place of registration.
• Proof of the health consultation is mandatory for the registration of prostitution. This proof is valid for 6 months for persons between the ages of 18 and 21 and for one year for persons over the age of 21. Proof of counseling must not be older than 3 months at the time of initial registration.
• Current proof must always be carried when exercising the activity.

Work permit

• Foreign nationals who are not entitled to freedom of movement must prove at the time of registration that they are entitled to take up employment or self-employment (work permit).

Alias certificate

• In addition to the registration certificate, you can also obtain an alias certificate.

• 2 photographs
• Identity card/passport/replacement passport or identity card
• Work permit for foreign citizens not entitled to freedom of movement
• Certificate of a health consultation (not older than 3 months for first registration)

Required information

• First name and surname
• Date and place of birth
• Nationality
• the countries and municipalities in which the activity is to be carried out
• the sole residence or main residence as defined by registration law or, alternatively, an address for service in Germany

This service is provided free of charge in accordance with Section 2 of the Thuringian Act on the Implementation of the Prostitution Protection Act (ThürAGProstSchG).
