Report a parking violation
In addition to the detection of traffic offenses by the officers of the regulatory authority, private individuals can also report stopping and parking violations.
Details
The so-called private report can be submitted by e-mail to the fines office of the city of Jena.
The report must be sufficiently documented so that there is no doubt as to the legality of the warning to be issued. In any subsequent legal proceedings, the ability to prove the traffic offense is of considerable importance. Against this background, the following information on the established offense is mandatory:
- Date of the offense detected
- Observation period (at least 4 minutes for parking violations, at least 15 minutes for parking violations in traffic-calmed areas and in restricted parking bans due to permitted loading activity)
- Exact location (street and house number)
- Allegation of offense
- License plate number and make
- Meaningful photos of the vehicle and the situation from the perspective of a road user (including signage/markings, access to the property, if applicable)
- the full personal details of the person making the complaint, as this person must be available as a witness at any court hearing
