Residence - Asylum procedure
Politisch Verfolgte genießen Asyl (Artikel 16a Grundgesetz).
Wer dieses Recht für sich in Anspruch nehmen will, muss sich einem Asylverfahren (Anerkennungsverfahren) unterziehen. Das Bundesamt für Migration und Flüchtlinge führt das Asylverfahren durch. Die Ausländerbehörde Jena vollzieht die aufenthaltsrechtlichen Entscheidungen. Im gesamten Verfahren ist die Behörde an die Entscheidung des Bundesamtes gebunden.
Der Antrag wird in Thüringen in Suhl gestellt.

Residence restriction
You have been assigned Jena as your place of residence by the State Reception Centre. Therefore, your residence is restricted to Jena during the asylum procedure.
Residence restriction
During the first three months, your residence is restricted to the Free State of Thuringia. Afterwards, asylum seekers are allowed to stay in the entire federal territory.
Employment
Asylum seekers have so-called subordinate access to the labour market three months after applying for asylum. This is made clear by the entry: "Employment only with permission of the foreigners authority. Self-employment not permitted."
This means: if there is a concrete job offer (employment contract), the documents have to be presented at the Aliens' Registration Office. The Aliens' Registration Office asks the Federal Employment Agency whether permission for employment is granted.
Residence permit
After you have been heard by the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees, you will receive a residence permit. This document contains information on residence, stay and employment.

Termin
The Foreigners' Registration Office works according to an appointment system. As a rule, you will receive an appointment from our authority with an appointment code for the next visit. Half an hour before the appointment you can register at the multilingual registration terminal of the Foreigners' Registration Office with the appointment code. Only those who have not received an appointment should pull a ticket for "Asylum" at the registration terminal.
It can happen that the appointment is outside the above mentioned office hours. With the appointment identification you can also register at the registration terminal outside these times, but at the earliest half an hour before the appointment.
Tickets for asylum matters without an appointment can be drawn on the consultation days until 11 am.
