Species protection - Display of protected species
Many animal and plant species are endangered due to the increasing destruction of their habitat or human encroachment. In order to protect these species, legal regulations have been issued that must be observed when trading, keeping and breeding them.

To report your animals, please use the animal population report form, which is available for download on this page. You will also find information sheets on selected protected animal species.
If you are unsure whether an animal is a specially protected species and which protection category it belongs to, please contact the lower nature conservation authority. The protection status can also be determined via the WISIA information system of the Federal Agency for Nature Conservation.
Unterlagen
Copies of the documents authorizing ownership must be submitted for each animal together with the animal stock notification form.
