Sunday driving ban / vacation travel regulations - exception
On Sundays and public holidays, trucks with a maximum permissible mass of over 7.5 tons and trucks with trailers are not permitted to drive between 00:00 and 22:00.
During the vacation travel period in summer, a Saturday driving ban also applies on numerous highways and federal roads (Holiday Travel Ordinance).
An exemption can be granted under certain conditions.
Procedure/deadlines
The application must be received in good time - at least 1 week before the start of the planned trip.

Copies of the following documents are also required:
- Freight and accompanying documents (copy)
- Registration certificate part I and trailer license (copy)
- Proof of the necessity of transportation during the ban period (copy)

The amount of the fee is determined in accordance with the current version of the scale of fees for road traffic measures (GebOst).
