Apply for Funding to Implement Family Support Measures
Organizations, social service agencies, and church-affiliated organizations can receive support from the City of Jena in implementing family-support measures.
Details
State Program “Solidarity Among Generations” (LSZ)
Funding for the implementation of family support measures is provided through the State Program “Solidarity Among Generations” (LSZ).
Application
If you wish to implement a family-support measure, you can find the corresponding application form under -> Forms.
A prerequisite for municipalities to receive funding is a comprehensive plan for needs-based family support measures, services, and facilities. This includes a needs assessment and analysis of existing resources for all areas of action covered by the state program.
The update to the City of Jena’s integrated sectoral plan was approved by the Social Affairs Committee on September 23, 2025 (25/0606-BV: Update to the Integrated Action Plan for the State Program “Solidarity Among Generations” (LSZ)) and forms the planning basis for the state program.
LSZ Guidelines of the City of Jena
To allocate these resources, the city has developed a guideline (LSZ Guideline of the City of Jena) and a project application form for organizations, welfare associations, and church-affiliated organizations; applications and the approval of funds are processed based on these documents. The LSZ Planning Advisory Board serves as a technical committee. Members of the Planning Advisory Board are:
- the Department Head for Social Affairs, Health, Immigration, and Climate,
- representatives of the political parties in the Jena City Council,
- the Chair of the Social Affairs Committee,
- the heads of the specialized departments for Health, Social Affairs, Youth Welfare, and Youth and Education,
- Social Planning/LSZ Planning,
- Youth Services Planning,
- Planning for Senior Services,
- a representative of the Paritätischer Wohlverband (Jena District Group),
- a representative of the Jena Alliance for Families, and
- the City of Jena’s Equal Opportunity Officer.
The Social Affairs Committee decides on the allocation.
