Settlement permit - children

The requirements are met if:

• the foreigner has been in possession of a residence permit in Germany for 5 years at the time of his/her 16th birthday,

• there is no interest in deporting him/her (e.g. due to criminal offenses),

The same applies if:

• if the foreigner is of legal age and has been in possession of a residence permit for 5 years

• their livelihood is secured (no receipt of public benefits, e.g. according to SGBII or XII) or they are in training that leads to a recognized school or vocational qualification or a university degree,

• they have sufficient knowledge of the German language (attended a German-language school for four years with promotion to the next higher grade, obtained a secondary school leaving certificate, promotion to the tenth grade of a secondary German-language school [Realschule, Gymnasium or Gesamtschule] or language certificate [Telc, Goethe or ÖSD certificate completed at level B1 of the CEFR])

All incoming applications will be reviewed without a personal visit.

• Proof of residence, if applicable (rental agreement, in the case of a subletting agreement also a declaration of consent from the owner, if using own living space [property] extract from the land register)
• Proof of health insurance, if applicable
• Proof of financing, if applicable (e.g. pay slip for the last three months, last income tax assessment, bank statements, employment contract or training contract)
• If applicable, school reports or Telc, Goethe or ÖSD certificate at level B1 of the CEFR
• If applicable, school certificate, training contract, certificate of study
• Signed instruction sheet
• Declaration of consent to the storage and use of your e-mail address and telephone number
